Unforgettable experience at Four Seasons Seychelles

Unforgettable experience at Four Seasons Seychelles
Seychelles is a perfect destination for luxury hotels and crystal blue water lovers where many resorts are present, especially in the main island Mahé. Among them, Four Seasons Seychelles goes beyond all luxury standards and is able to make your stay completely exclusive and unforgettable.

Settled in Petite Anse, overlooking Baie Lazare, the Four Seasons Seychelles resort impresses by its location quality and luxury excellence. After a 20-minute drive from the international airport, the first thing you can see when checking-in at the lobby is the gorgeous view over the white sand beach, turquoise waters and granite cliffs ; starting from this moment, you get caught by the Wow Factor and it will not end before check-out. Staying in a Hilltop Ocean-View Villa, we had incredible days there after a trip to Praslin and we definitely didn’t want to leave ; resort is huge and entertaining enough with such a friendly staff that allows to spend several days without going outside the property, just relaxing and taking a deep Indian Ocean breath.

Four Seasons Seychelles - Resort white sand beach

Four Seasons Seychelles honors its hotel group reputation ; luxury doesn’t necessary mean opulence and the operation management well-understood it. Key points are design and use of space, two concepts perfectly executed by Hirsch Bedner Associates office which introduced something we never seen before: guests are able to enter the resort and go to their villa not only by buggy, but by car directly. So VIP! Indeed, alleys are super large and allow car traffic which is more than convenient because some villas – especially hilltop villas – are quite far from the hotel beach and its main points of interest, so use of a buggy is mandatory. However don’t worry, the place is very calm and only registered vehicles – by the way very quiet vehicles – are authorized to drive.

Lobby building is also a masterpiece of design thanks to many levels accross the hill hosting – from top to bottom – the front desk, the fitness center and the library pavilion, the overall with an amazing modern Creole design and stylish furnitures ; material are very elegant too, as expected for a Four Seasons property. On the other hand you can enjoy the beach area which is much more family and fun oriented with its beach volley sand court, main pool and bar, as well as small pavilions for diving center, kids camp and non-motorized activities on the beach. Moreover, there is a lovely giant tortoises park where you can pet turtles at any time and to be honest, it became our habit from the first day to say them good night before going to sleep :)

You can’t stay at Four Seasons Seychelles without enjoying a Spa treatment or at least visit the Spa terrace. Located close to the lobby, at the top of the hill, it offers dra-ma-tic views over Baie Lazare and the whole resort. There, you can enjoy an unforgettable Champagne sunset – around 6pm – where multipe orange sky colors are mixed into the turquoise waters. Magical. And regarding treatments, I personally recommend their Hilltop Fusion massage, a mix of Asian/European/Creole touches with natural and organic oil blends by Yi-King that both relax and repair your body thanks to specific pressures.

Four Seasons Seychelles – Hilltop Villa bedroom

The Hilltop Ocean-View Villa #605 we had was just outstanding: located on the highest part of the resort and perched at 5 or 6-meter high, it provides a 180° bay view and full privacy with a huge terrace composed of a rest pavilion, a dining table, two sunbeds and an infinity pool. The interior is quite astonishing and probably the best villa interior we enjoyed worldwide, with a typical creole/colonial design, canopy bed, beautiful lithography pieces and what a bathroom… 30sqm of space with marble sunken bath and rain shower. Unbelievable! A video is available on our Youtube account, check The Luxe Insider TV on the top of this screen.

Dining

Four Seasons Seychelles - Kannel restaurant terrace

Four Seasons Seychelles – Kannel restaurant terrace

We took breakfast at Zez restaurant and we found plenty of choices, from American to Asian, Indian and Creole, all of them very good. Waiters are very attentive, smiling and do easily some efforts to make you happy ; we appreciated a lot. Then for lunch and dinner we prefered to go to Kannel restaurant – cuisine by Dave Minten – situated on the beach area which offers a Creole and international food, mostly oriented to seafood but not only. I highly recommend their Thai Curry Chicken that is so delicious! Finally we ordered sometimes some room service dishes and even if quite good, we had the disadvantage to be far from the cooking place so it was cold most of time ; maybe just a punctual issue. One last tip: if you plan to go to Zez for lunch or dinner, don’t forget to bring long pants! Otherwise, no access..

Level of exigency

All the staff we encountered at Four Seasons Seychelles was very professional and helped us each time we needed. They all know how to be at your disposal without being too present, in particular front desk and beach staff. We were greeted by name by everyone – receptionist, waiters, housekeeping, buggy drivers, beach guys – which is quite stunning ; regarding housekeeping we have been fully satisfied, they did their job quite quickly in the morning around 10am and for turndown service around 7pm which was more or less the moments we were outside for breakfast and dinner. More globally, we loved how the staff was involved in its guest wellbeing and how they did their best, whatever they were international or local staff – with a service quality surpassing most of five-star hotels.
