This year we decided to celebrate New Year enjoying a luxury brunch in one of the most upscale Parisian place, Le Royal Monceau hotel and its Michelin-star awarded restaurant La Cuisine.
Since a Spa review we made in 2014 at Le Royal Monceau, we wanted to experiment their luxury brunch at the Michelin star restaurant La Cuisine by Chef Laurent André and New Year celebration was the perfect occasion.
Atmosphere is still magical at Le Royal Monceau, when you pass through the small entrance on Avenue Hoche you immediately enter a world of design – by Philippe Starck – with plenty of art pieces ; look at this astonishing “Lightning Christmas Tree” by the French artist Didier Faustino in the lobby!
After a smooth check-in we were accompanied to our booked table – few steps away from the buffet – and were giving some “instructions”, just to understand how it works ; it’s actually quite easy: except eggs that are on demand, the buffet selection and Champagne are totally unlimited. And believe me, selection is HUGE: lobsters, king prawn, oysters, hamburgers, first-class meat, homemade pastas, cold buffet, fresh fruits, fresh juices, cheeses, etc… And pastries by the famous Chef Pierre Hermé.
We tested more or less everything, and one word can summarize our thoughts: DE-LI-CIOUS !! Every single piece of the buffet worth the visit, it was really outstanding and far beyond our expectations. I especially recommend the homemade pastas, the burger and the stunning “Infiniment Vanille” pastry.
As well, we must notice the faultless service and the impressive location – again fully designed by Philippe Starck – with chandeliers, arty touches everywhere and a so chic ambiance.
One tip: if you are 2-3 people, book a table on a sofa in the middle of the room. And if you are 4+ people, ask for a table under a dome. These are really the best tables :)
