Everyone dreams of escaping to a luxurious hideaway complete with crystal blue waters and gorgeous sandy beaches. The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is just such a place. This incredible resort has taken advantage of the picturesque scenery surrounding it, which will take your breath away and the pampering from the amazing spa will soothe your soul.
This magnificent resort and spa is set amid 35 acres of tropical gardens in Natadola Bay, Fiji. Natadola Beach has been voted one of the best in the world and minutes after arrival, any visitor can easily understand why. Even the finest photography fails to do justice to the beauty of this place. A combination of famous Fijian hospitality and luxurious accommodations, makes the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa a must experience for any traveller seeking distinctive excellence.
Living
The impressive and indulgent spa facilities are among the best anywhere. We opted for the beachside cabana massages and they were incredible. Envision yourself hearing the soothing sounds of the ocean coupled with lovely fragrances from the oils as all your cares are rubbed away. The massages give new meaning to luxurious relaxation and has to be experienced to be believed.
The championship golf course is a fantastic way to spend a few hours. Exercise and sunshine plus a perfectly challenging course amid gorgeous scenery was the best way to use excess energy and work up an appetite.
Room
Our room was a Beachfront Suite and it was exactly what we had hoped for and more. The decor in the 85 square meter room is best described as tropical opulence that both relaxes and excites at the same time. A private terrace with a day bed was definitely one of our favorite spots. We thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the beach yet having the ability to maintain privacy.
Dining
With so many incredible options for dining, the difficulty becomes choosing one. However, one of our favourites by far, was the intimate dining experience. With this option, we were served an exquisite meal in both presentation and palate in the privacy of our own cabana. What makes this meal even more special is that it is exclusive to only one couple per evening. A personal waiter introduced an authentic Fiji dining experience while we were being serenaded by the sound of the waves. From the first sip of sparkling wine to the last crumb of dessert, we enjoyed every bite of this opulent feast by the water.
For those who like to unwind with a drink, Kama Lounge is the place to go. Sit back and relax with a cool drink and watch the sun set over the endless waves. Drink choices are wide and varied but their specialty is a wide range of vodkas and infusions. There are two happy hours as well, one at the usual 5:30-6:30 p.m. and another from 9:30-10-:30 p.m. That was a nice unexpected treat when we went in for an early nightcap.
We were never bored, even for a minute. Weekly entertainment includes a nightly fire lighting ceremony, tribal drum show, acoustic music and local children & village choirs. All of these are wonderful but I suggest making a point to see the fire dancing. It’s nothing short of captivating.
Level of exigency
The staff are highly trained to provide the best in customer service from check-in to departure. With excellent attention to detail and always showing Fijian hospitality, they make you glad you chose to stay at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa. We look forward to doing so again, and again.
