Exclusive Hong Kong gateway at The Upper House

Exclusive Hong Kong gateway at The Upper House
Hong Kong has a high density of five-star hotels but only a few are able to provide a cosy, chic and trendy atmosphere. The Upper House is one of them, a stunning place for a luxury retreat located on the top of Pacific Place luxury mall.

Settled on the top of Pacific Place shopping mall in Hong Kong Central together with the Shangri-La, Conrad and JW Marriott hotels, the Upper House offers amazing views over both the Harbour and the green island. Among all the luxury properties in Central, this is definitely one of the most exclusive and trendy where the high society is jostling to spend time there, especially at the Cafe Gray Deluxe on 49th floor ; no need to have a pool or a Spa to be a great five-star hotel and make guests feel like home, here is the perfect illustration.

Living

The Upper House - Garden

The Upper House – Garden

The entrance reveals the natural, warm and subtle design of The Upper House by Andre Fu, a young Asian design talent. His purpose was to build a small luxury hotel reminiscent of a private residence with a haven of calm and quiet taste, I have to say that the bet is successful. Every part of the property is well designed and enhanced with Asian art pieces – I especially love the sandstones – from the water-surrounded lobby to the top floor restaurant with its 360° views over Hong Kong and the Harbour. A hidden garden located at 6th floor completes the overall, offering a peaceful area for relaxation on day time and turning into THE place to be in Hong Kong Central on night time.

The opulent 130sqm Upper Suite we had was truly a gem. When you open the door for the first time and look through living-room windows, you are immediately caught by the Wow factor thanks to the incredible 180° view through corner windows, both in the living and bedroom. Interior design reflects the overall building ambience – very zen and chic – perfectly integrated in the floor plan, with a quality of furnitures and materials that goes far beyond what we can expect from such a residence, in particular wood walls and the sofa. Special mention to the Spa-inspired bathroom and the full house automation.

Dining

The Upper House – Cafe Gray Deluxe truffle scramble eggs

The one and only restaurant Cafe Gray Deluxe is nestled on the top floor, offering a fine-dining cuisine by Chef Gray Kunz and gorgeous Hong Kong views. We didn’t had a chance to enjoy lunch or dinner there, however the a-la-carte breakfast experience was great and I especially recommend the black truffle scramble eggs on butter croissant ; a MUST!

Level of exigency

Service quality represents definitely a strong key point for The Upper House. On arrival we were welcomed by a very kind and efficient lobby’s staff – thank you Antoine – who directly drives us to the suite for a digital check-in on iPad ; that’s one visible aspect of the strong eco-friendly hotel’s commitment. Housekeeping was invisible and faultless, same for waiters at restaurant while entrance receptionists always greeted us by name. No more to say, just brilliant.
