Abu Dhabi is an interesting place to visit, throughout the year. Attractions, events, entertainment, luxury malls… There is always something to do, like Dubai. Luxury hotels are numerous there, and among them Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi stands out as a leader for anyone seeking relaxation, indulgence and proximity to points of interest.
Located in the main district of UAE’s capital, near Grand Canal, Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi is at easy distance from both the airport and city’s key points of interest. For a short stay, that’s really convenient ; the magnificent Sheikh Zayed Mosque is just at 10-min walking distance for instance.
Once arrived at the hotel’s gate, you enter a world of opulence and luxury services that will turn a leisure or business stay into pure delight.
Living
Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi is one of the largest Ritz-Carton property in the world. I went to RC Singapore a while ago and it was big, but this one is just huge. With more than 450 rooms, that’s indeed a massive complex with a main building, 85 private villas, two outdoor pools (including one adult-only), a Spa, a Venetian village and a private beach on the Grand Canal.
Even if Summer at Abu Dhabi is super hot, with temperatures regularly above 45°C in the afternoon, this property allows to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities at any time of the day. The main pool has plenty of shade areas with staff offering fresh water and fruits, the beach offers many cabanas to relax or read books, while fitness center and Spa are opened every day from early morning to late evening.
Room
If I have one tip to give when booking at Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, that’s this one: choose a room or suite with access to Club Level. The lounge is really nice, with beautiful view over the resort and Grand Canal from its 7th floor, and food quality really amazing.
Now regarding the Club Executive Suite we had, it was very large with high ceiling and a wonderful bathroom opened to the bedroom. The balcony overlooking the lagoon was pleasant, but as you can imagine with more than 40°C outside it was impossible to enjoy it haha :)
Dining
Because the Club lounge was so convenient and so good, I went there for lunch and dinner every day! While the place itself is not that big, probably 300 or 400sqm, it was empty most of time.
For breakfast we always had the choice of the table and no queueing at buffet ; the standing Chef was available to cook us whatever we asked for. Then regarding the food quality for canapés, sandwiches and hot dishes for lunch and dinner, I must give 10 out of 10. Everything was freshly cooked, delightful, well presented… Far away from the frozen stuff we can usually find in other executive lounges.
Service Quality
Ritz-Carlton’s service quality is world famous, same as Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons. Abu Dhabi’s resort is no exception, we are definitely above a business hotel level. All the staff I met, particularly at Front Desk and Club lounge, went the extra mile to make our stay perfect: online booking at Le Louvre Abu Dhabi, advise for a restaurant at Yas Mall, coordination with Etihad Airways for a limousine transfer… A true butler team.
